Overview of our IP Alarm Monitoring Technology

The IPtoPOTS architecture requires Zero Configuration at the Alarm Monitoring Center as signals are received using their existing alarm receivers. IPtoPOTS allows your alarm panels to send out signals over the Customer Internet connection from sites where there is no phone line available or where 2G communicators are being replaced. Using IP from the panel and POTS into the Central Station, our technology allows you to transmit signals in any alarm format to any Central Station.

Problems with POTS and VoIP

As you will already know, alarm signals do not communicate reliably when sent over the network of a 3rd party VoIP provider, however, if your Customer has switched to VoIP the problem is clearly identifiable. The more serious problem is when VoIP backhauling is being used by your Customers Telco without anyone knowing. The only way you get to find out is when a signal does not arrive at the Central Station and by then it's often too late.

IP Alarms have developed an in depth understanding of alarm transmission over IP and can show you that once the VoIP provider is taken out of the equation, it is perfectly reliable to use popular, "off the shelf" analog terminal adapters from Cisco, Grandstream and Obihai for alarm transmission.
